How might we make rare and out-of-print books discoverable?
Situation
Codex connects the curious reader to more than just your typical best seller's list. The Codex app features excerpts, or Clippings, sourced from rare and unique books from the past. Readers can explore and save Clippings from any topic ranging from classical art to Florentine dinner history to indigenous medicinal practices. Our goal is to spark curiosity in the reader through a digital experience that feels like walking into a dusty used bookstore — only this time it's in your pocket.
Challenge
Discovering rare and out-of-print books is difficult. Many of them are overlooked, under-read, and unknown.
